All right flyfishers of Cape Fear Flyfishing Club,
The week we’ve been waiting for all summer has almost arrived!! And no hurricanes are in the forecast! The temps are sounding like fall has arrived in the mountains and only one day has rain potential above 40%. Tuesday could get wet with an 80% chance of rain, but that’s in Waynesville and we will probably be fishing on the other side of the mountains so who knows, but I’d bring light rain gear just in case.
I thought I sent this out, but I can’t find it, so forgive the duplicate info, but I wanted to ensure everyone has the dinner arrangements:
Sunday – Our usual starting restaurant, the ever popular Bogart’s, at 7:30 for 15, plan next days travel, and car pooling etc, gotta make sure the traveling companions have wheels
Monday – Hotel Restaurant Waynesville Inn, at 7:30 for 16, recap of the first days lies (photo proof req’d of the 30 inch Brown unless you’re Harry Gobble and then it’s expected)
Tuesday – Frankie’s Italian, Maggie Valley, at 7:30 for 14, more lies and great Italian food
Wednesday – Open night, suggest Sweet Onion, Chef’s Table, Haywood Smokehouse, Boojum Pub among many others
Thursday – Frog’s Leap, at 7:30, for 8, awards for those still there, (must be present to win)
Friday – you’re all driving home or elsewhere and are on your own.
If you want to do something else on your own on any of the nights for dinner, please let Greta know on Sunday night at Bogarts, so she can take you off the list and notify the restaurant. I won’t be there until very late Monday night ;-( If you’re going to be in town, based on your hotel reservation, I included you in the restaurant group count for the evening.
Remember that the Inn has breakfast included in your room rate if you purchased the normal plan, but if you didn’t each room has refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave and the Buttered Biscuit is always tremendous and filling, or if your riding with the Rev, a Micky D’s stop could be in your morning future before you reach the guides. Count me in Rev! I’m still trying to see if the hotel will make us up some breakfast sandwiches early to go, but it doesn’t look positive.
We’re all set for what ought to be a fun few days.
