Next Meeting
The formal meeting starts at 6 PM.
Weather permitting, casting practice runs from 5 – 6 PM with socializing from 5:30 – 6:00 (get to know everyone!)
The Cape Fear Flyfishers will hold a general meeting on Wednesday, November 19. The meeting will start at 6:00 at the St. James community center.
The Rev holds pre-meeting casting instruction and practice from 5:00-6:00, weather permitting. Bring your rod or use one of ours. Come to the meeting early if you want to network with other members.

6:15-6:45 Speaker program:
Jon Hooper has agreed to be our January speaker. Jon is the General Manager and Head Guide for the South Holston River Lodge in Bristol, TN. Jon has an extensive career in the flyfishing industry ranging from guiding in Alaska and other states to managing fishing lodges to sponsoring trips to exotic locations.
The South Holston River Lodge was awarded the Orvis endorsed Flyfishing Lodge of the Year for 2025 largely through Jon’s efforts. The lodge is accessible from our area by approximately a 400-mile drive or by air to the Tri-Cities Airport in Tennessee. A number of club members have stayed at the lodge over recent years.
Post-meeting Activity
Since it was so well received last month, we will do pizza at the end of the meeting supplied by CFF. We will provide bottles of water. Feel free to bring your beverage of choice (no hard alcohol allowed). This will be another opportunity to network with other club members.
Our regular meeting location is the Homer E. Wright Event Center at St. James Plantation in Southport.
