Striper Fishing – Weldon

Guides are expensive (Allen Cain was $900 per boat per day plus tip a couple of years ago). My two boats can each hold three people—two anglers and a driver (who will get a few turns fishing). I have had several 100+ fish days (per person). Boats can be fixed, and six people don’t have to worry about hiring a guide. So, that’s the name of that story. 

Go up early May 1.  Fish that afternoon and all day on May 2.  Possibly fish the morning of May 3 and head home that afternoon or head home that morning.  (Or some combination of fishing those days.).

Kayakers are discouraged from taking this trip. The current is very strong, and most fishing is either in the swift currents at the launching ramp or a mile or so downriver.  Kayaking will be dangerous and exhausting
