Note from Jim White, the organizer:
Another local trip that is kayak friendly. Since May 25 is a Saturday, it is likely we will need to use my family farm for parking- it is 2 miles away, but we can run shuttle cars to take care of this. We can top it off with a picnic/cookout at the farm when it is over. There’s a kitchen and indoor plumbing and plenty of room under the shed to get out of the sun. We even have a couple of beds and a nice recliner that has a long history of napping success. There’s AC in the small efficiency apartment- you can even shower if you wish.
Though I have fished both creeks in Bobby Sand’s 22’ bay boat, it didn’t have a T-top to get hung up in the trees and squeezed through a shortcut. Kayaks should consider staying in Rice’s Creek simply because it is a long pedal or paddle to Town Creek. This is a Saturday two days after the Full Moon in May- the best time to catch bream on the beds. So, there should be a full house on the creeks that day- hence the concern about parking.
