Beaufort SC for Redfish

FFI has scheduled a trip to Beaufort.

There are a number of club members who have expressed an interest in attending.  If you have not already responded to me, please email me at rickhettenbach@gmail.com and let me know if you want to wade or want to share a guide.

Here are the details:

WHEN: October 3, 4, and 5 (best tides in October for fishing the flats)

WHERE:  Beaufort, South Carolina

Hosting Club: Sea Island Fly Fishers, Beaufort, SC

ACCOMMODATIONS:  TBD

Beaufort, SC, is surrounded by some of the best flats fishing for redfish in the Southeast.  A list of guides will be made available for those who want to hire one, but anglers are welcome to bring their own boats, kayaks, or flats wading booties and fish on their own.  

Sea Island Fly Fishers will host a fishing and fly-tying seminar the evening of October 3 at Bay Street Outfitters, the local Orvis store, 825 Bay Street, Beaufort, SC, 29902.  A buffet dinner will be available at this event.  We also plan to gather for dinner the evening of October 4 at a TBD restaurant. 

Some Sea Island Fly Fishers have offered to host anyone who would like to join them to wade fish the late afternoon (5 pm) tide on October 4. 

A tour of the Waddell Mariculture saltwater fish hatchery will be available for those interested on October 4.
