The Cape Fear Flyfishers will hold a general meeting on Wednesday, July 15. The meeting will start at 6:00 at the St. James Community Center.
Pre-meeting Activity
The Rev holds pre-meeting casting instruction and practice from 5:00-6:00, weather permitting. Bring your rod or use one of ours. Arrive early for the meeting if you wish to network with other members.
Program/Speaker
Stuart Creighton, CCA NC Eastern Regional Director, Coastal Conservation Association
Stu will be speaking to us about CCA NC and their efforts to protect and improve coastal fisheries. He will update us on the lawsuit brought against the state by CCA-NC and 86 individual citizen co-plaintiffs in 2020 to hold the State accountable for the destruction of our public-trust coastal fisheries resources from the State’s failure to manage them properly. We will also learn about the organization as a whole and how we can get involved.
Post-meeting Activity
For those interested in networking with other club members, we usually go to Paul’s in Oak Island after the meeting for a burger and beverage.
