January Meeting

The Cape Fear Flyfishers will hold a general meeting on Wednesday, January 15. The meeting will start at 6:00 at the St. James community center.

Pre-meeting Activity – No pre-meeting fly casting

Meeting Speaker – Captain Jon Gore

Captain Jon Gore’s upbringing in Georgia led to a lifelong love of fishing, backpacking, and camping. His early fascination with largemouth bass and panfish fishing remained a cherished hobby. Later, his competitive rock climbing adventures opened his eyes to the potential for fly fishing in those same scenic locations. He split his time guiding for trout on the Flathead River and numerous other iconic blue-ribbon trout streams in Montana and redfish in the Low Country of South Carolina before fully embracing the role of a full time fishing charter in Beaufort, SC.

Throughout the year, we have an enduring passion for sight fishing redfish, sea trout, sheepshead, and more in the shallow waters of Beaufort, SC. We utilize both fly rods and light tackle spinning rods in the expansive and picturesque marshes and waterways that envelop these areas, making them the perfect backdrop for our pursuit. Club Dues

Dues are due.  If you have not yet paid your dues, the membership form can be downloaded from the membership email.  We will also have membership forms at the meeting.

Post meeting Activity

For those interested in networking with other club members, we will go to Paul’s in Oak Island after the meeting for a burger and beverage.
