Members gathered at 6 p.m. at the Members Club in St. James for the annual banquet which, unfortunately, was not held last year due to Covid. The dinner consisted of a cash bar with appetizers provided by the fishing club. Choices of three entrees were available along with dessert.
Incoming President Jim Larson offered the before dinner prayer.
After dinner an auction was held for a 6 wt. Orvis Clearwater rod and reel outfit donated by Bill Buchsbaum along with a bamboo fly box donated by Steve Moore and a few other items. Lisa Huber won the auction with a bid of $600.00 and the proceeds will go into the club treasury.
President Bill Buchsbaum presented several awards. The recipients were:
- President’s Award—Matt Kraker
- Clear Water Award—Taylor Ryan
- Rookie of the Year—Melody Ryan
- Rookie of the Year—Steve McNabe
- Angler of the Year–Al Roy
- Recognition of Service—Nancy Fuller
- Recognition of Service—Doug Donaldson
Instead of traditional club plagues, recipients received gift certificates this year.
Big Jim Larson also presented outgoing President Bill Buchsbaum with a yet-to-be embroidered fishing shirt which will have the CFF logo. Past President Ed Smith will also receive an embroidered shirt since he didn’t get his last year because the banquet was canceled.
An enjoyable evening was had by all in attendance as it was a welcome chance for visiting with fellow CFF members and their spouses.
Respectfully submitted,
Nancy Fuller
Secretary
